My words, thoughts and photos from a Swedish perspective

The noble art of turning

The ferries to Finland are not among the vessels I think of as “beautiful” but they can look ok provided that the surroundings and/or background/foreground add something to the photo. One thing that still makes an impression on me is their ability to turn. I have heard the expression “to stop on a dime” but the Swedish way of putting it is “to turn on a dime” and it is almost true in this case. My wish is that the man who invented the bow thruster got well paid for his invention.

  1. That is a fine looking ferry! I haven’t seen a ferry so nice. To turn on a dime with that? Whoa! Great shot!

Anna: That’s one of the better looking ferries and its ability to turn is impressive. Thank you.
