Decorative elements

In my opinion, it’s the tiny details that add the final touch. I found the “flower” above on an iron door in The Old Town in Stockholm. The door is newly made, but is probably a copy of the door it replaced. The blacksmith added a discreet modern decorative element to show that it is new. There is a difference between “to show” and “to point out” and the blacksmith understood that difference.

This cramp is far from new but it doesn’t make it less beautiful. The low winter sun makes its shadow play on the wall. There are occasions when less is more…
