Summing up the day

I got a freezer with no ice on the walls and it’s clean too.

My reward after having shoveled snow twice, cleaned a rug and cleaned the freezer: Dinner. Lamb in tomato sauce with Calamata olives. A can of Kilkenny with it was the perfect choice.

  2. That stew looks very yummy. I haven’t eaten lamb in a long time. I love olives of any kind and Calamata olives in a stew is certainly delicious. I’m thinking of a dark bread to go with the stew. My freezer is cleaned out; however, I haven’t plugged it back in as I decided not to use it in the hopes of getting a bigger and newer model. 🙂

    imac: Good choice! 🙂

    Anna: I think most people are afraid of “that old cardigan taste” but if cooked right (with garlic and rosemary for instance) that taste won’t ruin the meal. The juice of a lime can also add an interesting and fresh taste to lamb. In this particular case, I made a tomato sauce and boiled the meat in it together with spices and olives (I love olives too) and dark bread, full of taste, would certainly work well with the stew. I often had lamb when I lived in Ireland and I still like it. I hope you get the freezer you want soon, because it’s very handy to have one. 😉
