My words, thoughts and photos from a Swedish perspective

Skeppsholmen by night

Disigt Skeppsholmen

The day had been warm but the temperature fell and reached the freezing point when the evening came. Cold air in warm, well at least warmer, surroundings means fog and this day was no exception to the rule. The only problem was that I had no tripod, so I used what I found and thought could work as support for the camera while taking the picture.

The chuch is Skeppsholmskyrkan, but is no longer in use as a church because its parish, i e the Navy, moved from Skeppsholmen to another base in the archipelago in the late 60’s. It has been repaired and nobody knew what to do with it. The problem was solved earlier this year when it was decided that it will serve as a choir centre and will be named The Eric Ericsson Choir Centre after the famous choir conductor Eric Ericsson. I saw him on the news a couple of weeks ago and he was genuinely touched by this and the fact that he received this honour while still alive. He is over 90 years old now, but attended the opening ceremony.
