More Christmas lights in the December darkness

The city centre is currently more than lit up and full of people doing their Christmas shopping. It sure looks nice even if the crowded department stores drive me mad, or at least next to it. When finishing work late, I often go home by night bus. The city centre is a very different thing in the middle of the night. All the lights, all the things on display in the department stores’ windows – some of them also use loudspeakers from which a happy “Hohoho” can be heard mixed with Christmas carrols – makes a surrealistic impression when they echo out over the empty street.

Illuminated trees and bushes is a rather new fashion but I like it, because it sometimes gets the fantasy and imagination going… or are we just wishing the electric power companies a Merry and joyful Christmas?
