My words, thoughts and photos from a Swedish perspective

My latest find from the flea market

I went to a flea market a couple of weeks ago. Naturally I didn’t find what I was looking for, but I found this. I already had a round one of the same design from my grandmother and I now saw the chance to complete what I already had in stock, thereby doubling my possibilities to eat at a nice laid table. Solid design from the 50’s – what could possibly be better?

  1. That is very beautiful. Is it actually a design your grandmother used to have or is it something she gave to you earlier as a present. Because it looks very modern.
I use to do that, buying all sorts of tableware my grandmother used to have. Mainly crockery from the Regout factories here in Holland. But I secretly think that Scandinavian design is much more stylish.

Steffie: Thank you. I took care of it after my grandmother had passed away. It may look modern, but it is from the 50’s – a golden decade in the history of Scandinavian design. Unfortunately, it is impossible to read the stamps, so I cannot see where it was made.

Well, styles and designs are different depending on where you live. Why not mix them when and if you have a chance? I bet it would make your dining table look special.
